The Rhodenbaugh Family

Burial Sites:

  • Many members of the Rhodenbaugh family are buried in Western Cemetery, just west of Swedona.
  • Several Stevenson-Rhodenbaugh children are buried in New Windsor Cemetery, except for one half-sibling.

William James Stevenson (Father):

  • Married Anna J. Stevenson (1854–1882) and had four children.
  • Anna likely died during childbirth or from complications, as she passed on the same day her daughter was born.
  • These four children are our half aunts/uncles.
  • Later married Mary Olive Rhodenbaugh, who became our great-grandmother.
  • Together, they had multiple children, including Edith Stevenson-Rhodenbaugh.

William James Stevenson’s Parentage:

  • The identity of his father is uncertain, but research suggests his father emigrated from Ireland.
  • Some records list Alexander Stephenson as his father.

Mary Olive Rhodenbaugh Stevenson:

  • A member of the Rhodenbaugh family, with a well-documented lineage.
  • Her parents are also buried in Western Cemetery.

Isaiah Rhodenbaugh (1820–1912) – Mary Olive’s Father:

  • One of the earliest settlers of Mercer County.
  • Married Mary Jane Metzler-Rhodenbaugh, our grandmother.
  • Had multiple children, with many Rhodenbaugh descendants still buried in the region.
